Development Plan

The Cambridgeshire Local Council Development Plan is the first of its kind in Cambridgeshire and acts as a starting point for the sharing of ideas, ambitions and aspirations for Cambridgeshire’s Local Council Sector. It has been written in partnership, through local councils, clerks and councillors; sector-specific support organisations; the voluntary sector and Principal Authorities coming together to establish the beginnings of an innovative partnership approach to local council improvement for the County.

The Cambridgeshire Local Council Development Plan will help support the aspirations of the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) National Improvement Strategy for Parish and Town Councils (2017 – 2022) by focusing support for all the 238 Town and Parish Councils located in Cambridgeshire, but drawing upon the national expertise, training and programmes offered through NALC, the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).
