The latest round of new clerks training run by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Association (CAPALC) has just been completed. It was held in the Norwood Room at Somersham from 9.30-3pm on Thursday 6th and Thursday 13th July and run by Diane Bayliss.
The Course which is held over two days covers topics such as Roles and Responsibilities, Elections, Powers and Duties, Meeting Procedures including Agenda Setting, Parish Council Financial Matters, Insurance and Risk Management, and Planning Matters.
There is plenty of opportunity for the new clerks to share their initial impressions of, and experiences in, their new role. Lots of discussion and questions punctuate the presentations throughout the day, hopefully ensuring that the delegates don’t go home with burning issues that have not been addressed at least in part.
The County trainer for the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is also on hand at lunchtime to talk about the Certificate, and answer any further questions the delegates may have.
The next course will be held at the same venue on 7th and 14th September. For further details please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
